PlanerBuddy is designed from the ground up as an offline-first application. This means that by default:

  • All your data, including trips, expenses, budgets, and participant names, is stored locally on your device.
  • We do not have access to your personal financial data.
  • Your data is not transmitted to our servers for processing or storage.

3. Information We Collect

Because of our privacy-centric design, the information we collect is strictly limited to optional features and essential app functionality:

  • Device Information: We may collect anonymous crash reports and performance data to help us improve app stability.
  • Local Permissions: The app may request access to your device's camera or photo library solely for the purpose of attaching receipts or customizing your trip covers. These photos never leave your device.
  • Weather Data: If you use the Weather feature, your trip destination coordinates may be sent anonymously to a third-party weather API (such as Open-Meteo) strictly to retrieve weather forecasts. No personal identifiers are attached to these requests.

4. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services (such as Google Play Services or Apple App Store analytics) for distribution and basic telemetry. These services have their own privacy policies addressing how they use such information.

Your data is secured by the operating system of your device. We highly recommend using device-level security (passcodes, biometrics) and enabling PlanerBuddy's built-in App Lock feature to protect your data from unauthorized access.
